The silence hidden in the cold air and the warm silence of a snowy morning have always stimulated my imagination. 〈I Love Winter〉 is a work that started from those feelings of mine.
The girl in this picture is not just a simple character, but the embodiment of the innocence and excitement of winter that I felt as a child. The snowy field where white breath spread, the moments when I put on gloves and lifted my snowboard (ski) with a swollen heart, and the memory of looking up at the sky while holding a warm doll in my arms. I wanted to capture all those emotions in this scene.
The heart-shaped balloons floating in the sky symbolize love, joy, and warmth, and the crowned goose and teddy bear by my side are my imaginary friends from my childhood. They are the ones who always enjoyed winter with me, and they are also the guardians who protect my own fairy tale world.
〈I Love Winter〉 is not just a painting depicting winter. This work is a small world that contains all the emotions and memories I felt about the season, and my love for it. I hope this painting will become a ‘lucky box’ that reminds someone of their own precious winter.
