One night, when the moonlight was unusually bright, I imagined a blue whale swimming above the calm clouds. The girl sitting on its back symbolizes my other self and my pure childhood memories. I wanted to put down the weight of reality and capture all the emotions of those days when I could freely swim in the world of dreams—curiosity, warmth, vague longing—in this small scene.
The moon has always been a source of comfort and inspiration to me. Its quiet glow in the darkness seems to tell me, “It’s okay.” The moon in this piece also contains that feeling. The night sky becomes a stage for imagination, and the whale becomes a vehicle that carries emotions, taking the girl anywhere.
