This work, “Light and Silence,” an extension of the “Lucky Box” series, depicts a scene from a quiet bookshelf with the emotion of opening a gift box. In the center of the work, a doll-like girl is quietly reading a book, and the candles emitting soft light and cute animals surrounding her are intended to create a cozy and dreamy atmosphere.
Through this scene, I tried to visually express the imagination and inner richness that blooms in silence. The surrounding frame is engraved with cute illustrations (pictograms) of candles, stars, houses, and books, which help to remind us of the emotions of children's storybooks or gift wrapping. This symbolizes the 'small gift-like moments in everyday life' that the 'Lucky Box' series pursues.
Light and Silence is a work that captures the value of inner peace and contemplation that shines in silence, in contrast to the noisy outside world.
