The place where happiness dwells
Park Hong-mi & On Ram
April 2026
Le Vid Art & Lounge
Apples and pumpkins are familiar subjects that have long been close to human life. However, in this exhibition, they are reinterpreted not merely as objects of still life, but as symbols embodying the emotions and desires of life.
Park Hong-mi's apples are positioned like another self-portrait reflecting the artist herself. The apples in the canvas linger alone, gaze at the landscape, and invite contemplation on the meaning of happiness amidst quiet moments. As small and distinct entities, they symbolize the inner self of a person who guards their heart and endures life.
Onram's pumpkins appear as forms embracing blessings. Their round and generous shapes, the image of abundantly swollen life, and the golden and blue hues filling the canvas evoke the energy of abundance, peace, and a blessed life. His pumpkins are not merely symbols of harvest, but rather the image of warm blessings that dwell within home, relationships, and the accumulation of time.
Through the works of the two authors
Where does happiness begin? And how does blessing dwell in life?
It makes you think.
If the apple is 'my heart,' the pumpkin is 'our life.' Happiness, starting from a small individual wish, grows into a blessing within relationships and spaces.
These two works show the simple yet profound fullness found in the closest places of daily life.
